Every race, every candidate

All 324 candidates on the Secretary of State's official list for federal, statewide and legislative offices, each with a profile page. Judges on the retention ballot have their own page: Judges. County offices, district judges and city races are listed on each county page.

Statewide offices and courts

Statewide, voters choose a governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, controller, treasurer, attorney general, insurance commissioner and superintendent of public instruction, plus one Board of Equalization member by district. There is no U.S. Senate race this year. Two state Supreme Court justices and many Court of Appeal justices are on the ballot for yes-or-no retention votes.

U.S. House

Your district's one vote in the U.S. House. House members write and vote on federal laws, taxes and spending, and every bill to raise taxes has to start in the House. A term is two years.

State Senate

Your district's vote in the 40-member California State Senate. Senators write and vote on state laws and the state budget, confirm many of the governor's appointments, and can place constitutional amendments on the ballot with the Assembly. A term is four years.

The 20 even-numbered state Senate seats (of 40) are on the ballot; senators serve four-year terms, so the odd-numbered seats are next up in 2028.

State House

Your district's vote in the 80-member California State Assembly. Members write and vote on state laws and the state budget, and with the Senate can place measures such as Props. 1, 2, 4, 5 and 43 on the ballot. A term is two years.

All 80 state Assembly seats are on the ballot; members serve two-year terms. Districts 4, 8, 22 and 32 have one candidate each, and those races are still on the ballot.
