How this guide is made

Statewide Propositions

The Texas Secretary of State's 2026 sample ballot lists no statewide propositions. Local propositions are not covered in this guide.

Candidates

The list of races and candidates is the Texas Secretary of State's official ballot certification for the November 3, 2026 general election ↗, in the order of the Secretary of State's certification (your county's ballot may list them in a different order), with names as they appear on the ballot. Each profile lists checkable facts with links to where they came from, the candidate's own stated priorities clearly labeled as theirs, and links to official records and campaign finance filings. We don't rate candidates, list endorsements, or publish polling.

Counties and local questions

County pages list every county office, district judge and city race we have. We have not collected local questions for this state yet. Wording for local questions is quoted only from official sources and marked "wording to come" where we don't have it yet.

Districts

District lines on the map come from U.S. Census Bureau files of the Texas Legislature's 2021 state Senate and House maps (adopted again in 2023). Your sample ballot is the final word.
