Maryland voter guide

How this guide is made

Statewide Ballot Questions

The wording of each question is copied word for word from the State Board of Elections' official ballot questions. The "what your vote means" lines and plain-words summaries are ours, and each line links to its source.

Candidates

The list of races and candidates is the State Board of Elections' official candidate list for the November 3, 2026 general election , in the order of the Board's data file (your ballot may list them in a different order), with names as they appear on the ballot. Where a candidate lives is the county on their filing with the State Board of Elections. Each profile lists checkable facts with links to where they came from, the candidate's own stated priorities clearly labeled as theirs, and links to official records and campaign finance filings. We don't rate candidates, list endorsements, or publish polling.

Counties and local questions

County pages list the county offices, circuit court judges, school board and town races, and county or city questions printed on the State Board of Elections' official ballots for each county. Local question wording is copied word for word from those ballots.

Districts

District lines on the map come from U.S. Census Bureau files of the Maryland's 2022 legislative district map (47 districts; some House of Delegates districts are split into subdistricts such as 1A and 1B). Your sample ballot is the final word.
