Vermont voter guide

How this guide is made

Constitutional Amendments

INCOMPLETE: we have not yet checked the amendment text or the ballot question word for word against the Governor's proclamations or the sample ballot, so neither is shown. The "what your vote means" lines and plain-words summaries are ours, and each line links to its source.

Candidates

The list of races and candidates is the Secretary of State's official list of qualified candidates for the November 3, 2026 general election , in the order of the Secretary of State's file (your ballot may list them in a different order), with names set in normal capitalization (the Secretary of State's file is in all capitals). Where a candidate lives is the town of residence in the same list. Each profile lists checkable facts with links to where they came from, the candidate's own stated priorities clearly labeled as theirs, and links to official records and campaign finance filings. We don't rate candidates, list endorsements, or publish polling.

Counties and local questions

County pages list the county offices on the Secretary of State's list: sheriff, state's attorney, probate judge, assistant judges and high bailiff. INCOMPLETE: district judges, city races and local questions are not covered.

Districts

District lines on the map come from U.S. Census Bureau files of the state Senate (16 districts) and state House (109 districts) boundaries as drawn for 2022. Your sample ballot is the final word.
