New Mexico voter guide

How this guide is made

Constitutional Amendments and Bond Questions

The wording of each question is copied word for word from the Secretary of State's official list of constitutional amendments and bond questions. The "what your vote means" lines and plain-words summaries are ours, and each line links to its source. Arguments for and against draw on the Legislative Council Service's nonpartisan guide.

Candidates

The list of races and candidates is the Secretary of State's official candidate list for the November 3, 2026 general election , in the order of the Secretary of State's candidate list (your ballot may list them in a different order), with names as they appear on the ballot. Each profile lists checkable facts with links to where they came from, the candidate's own stated priorities clearly labeled as theirs, and links to official records and campaign finance filings. We don't rate candidates, list endorsements, or publish polling.

Counties and local questions

County pages list every county office, district judge and city race we have. We have not collected local questions for this state yet.

Districts

District lines on the map come from U.S. Census Bureau files of the New Mexico Legislature's 2021 state Senate and House maps (adopted in the December 2021 special session; first used for the House in 2022 and the Senate in 2024). Your sample ballot is the final word.
