How this guide is made
Constitutional Amendment Questions
The wording of Question 1 is copied word for word from the Secretary of State's list of questions on the 2026 general election ballot (PDF). Bill facts come from the General Court (gc.nh.gov) bill status page and the City of Dover sample ballot, both read through a text summary. The plain-words summary and the 'why' sections are ours; testimony and news items were not re-checked.
Candidates
The list of races and candidates is the Secretary of State's official candidate list for the November 3, 2026 general election , in the order the list prints them, with names as printed (party codes spelled out). The PDF is dated September 17, 2026, after the September 8 primary; it lists no withdrawals or write-ins, and county offices (sheriff, county attorney, treasurer, register of deeds, register of probate, commissioners) are not in this guide. Each profile lists checkable facts with links to where they came from, the candidate's own stated priorities clearly labeled as theirs, and links to official records and campaign finance filings. We don't rate candidates, list endorsements, or publish polling.
Counties and local questions
This guide does not cover county and local races or local questions yet. Your sample ballot lists everything you will vote on.
Districts
District lines on the map come from U.S. Census Bureau files of the New Hampshire state legislative districts (the 164 county districts in the file; floterial districts are not in it). Your sample ballot is the final word.
