Every race, every candidate

All 455 candidates on the Bureau of Elections' official list for federal, statewide and legislative offices, each with a profile page. Judges on the retention ballot have their own page: Judges. County and local races are on your sample ballot.

Governor, statewide offices, U.S. Senate and statewide boards

Statewide, voters choose a governor and lieutenant governor (one vote for the pair), a secretary of state, an attorney general and a U.S. senator. They also elect two Michigan Supreme Court justices, two members of the State Board of Education, and two members each of the governing boards of the University of Michigan, Michigan State University and Wayne State University. Supreme Court candidates are listed without party labels, in the nonpartisan part of the ballot, even though parties nominate them.

U.S. House

Your district's one vote in the U.S. House. House members write and vote on federal laws, taxes and spending, and every bill to raise taxes has to start in the House. A term is two years.

State Senate

Your district's vote in the Michigan Senate. Senators write and vote on state laws and the state budget, and approve or reject many of the governor's appointments. A term is four years, with a limit of 12 years total in the Legislature.

All 38 state Senate seats are on the ballot; senators serve four-year terms. Races with one candidate are still on the ballot.

State House

Your district's vote in the Michigan House of Representatives. Members write and vote on state laws and the state budget. A term is two years, with a limit of 12 years total in the Legislature.

All 110 state House seats are on the ballot; members serve two-year terms. Races with one candidate are still on the ballot.
