Statewide Ballot Proposals
Every Michigan voter decides these 2. Each page has the official ballot title word for word, what a yes or no vote does, and links to the full text.
- Proposal 1: Constitutional convention Hold a convention to rewrite the state constitutionmajority to pass
Biggest change: Starts a process, not a new constitution: voters would elect 148 delegates (one per state Senate and House district), and any draft they write must later be approved by voters..
- Proposal 2: Utility and contractor donations Ban political donations from utilities and big state contractorsmajority to pass
Biggest change: Bans direct or indirect contributions to Michigan politicians from DTE Energy, Consumers Energy and companies with more than $250,000 in state government contracts, and from their officials and people with substantial ownership or board seats..
Proposal 1 is on the ballot automatically: the Michigan Constitution asks voters every 16 years whether to hold a convention to rewrite it. Proposal 2 is a law proposed by citizens through petitions. Each passes with a majority of the votes cast on it. Source: Bureau of Elections: November 2026 statewide ballot questions (PDF) .
