Every race, every candidate

All 442 candidates on the State Board of Elections' official list for federal, statewide and legislative offices, each with a profile page. Judges on the retention ballot have their own page: Judges. County and local races are on your sample ballot.

Governor and statewide offices

Statewide, voters choose a governor and lieutenant governor (one vote for the team), a state comptroller and an attorney general. No U.S. Senate seat is up this year.

U.S. House

Your district's one vote in the U.S. House. House members write and vote on federal laws, taxes and spending, and every bill to raise taxes has to start in the House. A term is two years.

State Senate

Your district's vote in the New York State Senate (63 members). Senators write and vote on state laws and the state budget, and approve the governor's picks for top jobs and for judges on the state's highest court. A term is two years.

All 63 state Senate seats are on the ballot; senators serve two-year terms. Races with one candidate are still on the ballot.

State House

Your district's vote in the New York State Assembly (150 members), the larger house of the Legislature. Members write and vote on state laws and the state budget. A term is two years.

All 150 state Assembly seats are on the ballot; members serve two-year terms. Races with one candidate are still on the ballot.
