Every race, every candidate

All 125 candidates on the Office of Elections' official list for federal, statewide and legislative offices, each with a profile page. County and local races are on your sample ballot.

Not in this guide: county council and mayor races (Hawaii, Honolulu, Maui and Kauai). They are on the Office of Elections filing list but we did not build pages for them. Check your sample ballot.

Governor, lieutenant governor and Office of Hawaiian Affairs

Statewide, voters choose a governor and lieutenant governor (who run together as a team in the general election) and five Office of Hawaiian Affairs trustees. There is no U.S. Senate race this year. Hawaii's judges are appointed, not elected.

U.S. House

Your district's one vote in the U.S. House. House members write and vote on federal laws, taxes and spending, and every bill to raise taxes has to start in the House. Hawaii has two districts. A term is two years.

State Senate

Your district's vote in the Hawaii state Senate. Senators write and vote on state laws and the state budget, and approve or reject the governor's picks for judges and top state jobs. A term is usually four years.

15 of the 25 state Senate seats are on the ballot (districts 2, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 25). Senators usually serve four-year terms; the winners in districts 18 and 19 serve two years, to finish terms that end in 2028. Names are from the Office of Elections candidate report (export of October 15, 2026). In districts 5, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, 17, 21 and 25 the report lists one person as elected after the primary with no opponent in November; that person is shown and marked.

State House

Your district's vote in the Hawaii state House of Representatives. Members write and vote on state laws and the state budget, and propose constitutional amendments like the ones on this ballot. A term is two years.

All 51 state House seats are on the ballot; members serve two-year terms. Names are from the Office of Elections candidate report (export of October 15, 2026). In districts 1, 6, 7, 9, 15, 19, 21, 22, 24, 25, 27, 28, 33, 35, 36, 37, 38, 41, 48 and 51 the report lists one person as elected after the primary with no opponent in November; that person is shown and marked.
