Ballot Measures

Every Alaska voter decides these 2. Each page has the official ballot title word for word, what a yes or no vote does, and links to the full text.

• Ballot Measure 2 Go back to party primaries and end ranked-choice votingmajority to pass

Biggest change: Ends the open primary where all candidates appear on one ballot, and brings back political party primaries.

• Ballot Measure 3 Say in the law that only U.S. citizens may votemajority to pass

Biggest change: Says that only those who are United States citizens and meet the other requirements may vote..

Both measures were put on the ballot by citizen petition. Each changes state law, not the constitution, and passes with a simple majority of the votes cast on it. Source: Alaska Division of Elections: Official Election Pamphlet, Region 3 ↗.
